A NoMad Love Story
In a city full of enchantments, there’s something about NoMad that captures the heart like nowhere else: the elegance of the neighborhood’s 19th and early 20th-century buildings, the perennial beauty of Madison Square Park, the exhilarating confluence of timeless style and iconoclastic art and design. It truly is one of the best places on earth to fall in love — or fall in love all over again.
If you’re looking for special things to do this Valentine’s Day in New York, The Fifth invites you to Treat Yourself, Treat Your Loved One, our exclusive Valentine’s Day hotel package. It’s the perfect opportunity to ensconce yourselves in a room or suite that inspires you both to dream, and to make The Fifth the sumptuous backdrop for lovestruck adventures all around NoMad.
Happy Valentine’s Stay from The Fifth
As the poet laureate of Valentine’s Day hotels in NYC, we start things off with our Valentine to you in the form of a personalized haiku, followed by an in-room martini ritual, featuring two martinis customized to your taste, with your choice of Blue Gin or Axberg Vodka from world-renowned distiller Hans Reisetbauer. Continue on to an intimate, indulgent dinner at Café Carmellini, followed by a nightcap at The Portrait Bar… you have the privilege of preferred reservations for both. In the morning, linger over The Fifth Avenue Breakfast for two — you don’t have to check out until 2 p.m.
Lovers’ Promenade
NoMad offers endless opportunities for couples to reconnect while exploring the city. Start with a romantic walk in Madison Square Park, which is as serenely dreamlike in winter as it is vibrantly abloom in May. If you want your paramour’s path strewn with roses, take them to the Flower District, which has been a botanical oasis in the city since the Gilded Age. Pay homage to the early chansons of the Great American Songbook by checking in on Tin Pan Alley, where pre-WWII love songs like “For Me and My Gal” and “Cheek to Cheek” were written and recorded. Or channel Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant in An Affair to Remember (or Irene Dunne and Charles Boyer in Love Affair, or Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle), and meet your love on top of the Empire State Building.
The Art of Romance
For contemporary photography lovers, the New York outpost of Fotografiska is one of the best date nights in the city. (One of our other special offers, Follow Us to Fotografiska, which includes tickets for two to the museum and drinks for two at The Portrait Bar, calls for a return visit!) We also recommend taking advantage of your late check-out to enjoy a Chelsea gallery- hopping day, or perusing the wealth of art and manuscripts at The Morgan Library and Museum.
A Little Night Music
Catching a show is an enticing way to end a perfect NoMad night. The Flatiron Room offers live entertainment as well as hundreds of types of distilled spirits. The nonprofit Jazz Gallery has 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. sets several nights a week, where you can catch young and emerging jazz artists from around the globe. For comedy fans, The Gotham Comedy Club is a longtime favorite where well-known comedians like Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffigan sometimes make cameos when they’re not touring.
