Pierpont Morgan’s magnificent former private library (designed by Charles McKim of McKim, Mead & White) has expanded into a campus where visitors can browse rare texts — including a copy of the Declaration of Independence and the only existing manuscript of Paradise Lost — attend seasonal exhibitions and performances, and more. Free hour-long tours illuminate the permanent collection.
